BREAKING – The Workers’ Party has won Hougang by elections comfortably with 62.09% of the popular vote.  Png Eng Huat has succeeded in his attempt to retain WP’s stranglehold in Hougang.

Mr Desmond Choo of the PAP garnered 37.91% of the vote.

The total votes cast locally are 21,951 and it is 93.94% of the 23,368 registered electors in Hougang constituency.

The Hougang seat was vacated by Mr Yaw earlier this year. Yaw garnered 64.8 per cent of the vote, while Mr Desmond Choo's 35.20 per cent in the General Elections last year.
