TOC excerpted an article from the blogosphere yesterday which highlighted that some archived newspaper articles have gone missing from National Library Board’s (NLB) searchable online Singapore newspaper archiveĀ NewspaperSG. (See HERE).

TOC wrote in to NLB to enquire on these missing articles in their online newspaper archive yesterday.

Ms Narinder Kaur, Assistant Director of NLB replied to our query that several issues were inaccessible as their index was corrupted due to a technical upgrade to incorporate Chinese newspapers and Chinese search.

In her email reply, Ms Kaur apologised for the inconvenience caused and said that the service is now fully restored. She also said that users can now access Lianhe Zaobao of 1983 from their NewspaperSG and that more Chinese newspapers will be uploaded periodically.
