Mr Tony Tan Lay Thiam has confirmed with TOC that his team is in talks with Singapore People’s Party (SPP) about about a possible alliance for the coming elections. If talks are successful, it is expected that Hazel Poa, Jeisilan Sivalingam and Tony Tan who are part of the group which resigned en-masse from Reform Party (RP) recently, may contest Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC with Mr Chiam See Tong and Mr Mohamad Hamim Aliyas, the Secretary-General and CEC member of SPP. Mr Chiam skipped a joint walkabout on Sunday with the RP in the West Coast GRC last Sunday.

半年来13工地接停工令 玛格烈通道工地爆56骨痛热症病例

女皇镇玛格烈通道一组屋工地内，有56名工人相继感染骨痛热症，承包商据悉已经被罚款扣分。此外，有13个工地在过去五个月，因有黑斑蚊滋生地而被下令停工。 环境局加强骨痛热症防疫措施，敦促建筑业给予合作，并且对没有妥善处理建筑工地环境问题，导致黑斑蚊滋生的建筑工地承包商采取严厉行动。有关的对付行动包括了发出停工指令，以及法院起诉。 被下令停工的工地，承包商必须采取必要的纠正行为，包括整理环境、清理杂草等，有效审查现场卫生和病媒控制程序后，才有可能获得撤除停工令。 截至目前为止，13个在过去五个月接收停工令的工地中，已有10个工地的停工令成功被撤除。 然而，玛格烈通道并不在撤除停工令行列内。截止星期一，已有56名来自该工地，在SkyResidence组屋工地工作并居住的外国客工的工人感染上蚊疫。环境局证实在重复稽查时，发现工地蚊虫大量滋生，因此发出停工令，要求该工地承包商采取行动。 其中一名被下令停工的工地主管表示，工地内至今已经有49人染病，接获停工令后暂停了所有工作，当前只能进行整理、收拾等防范工作。 对此，建屋局证实有关消息，并指相关承包商已经被罚款和记分，将会配合当局，一起执行严格的害虫控制和管理措施。 环境局表示在玛格烈通道被列为蚊疫黑区后，当局多次到场稽查并寻获七个黑斑蚊温床，包括在护土墙、金属模板、树洞和安全栅栏等。
