The police wants The Online Citizen to apply for no less than three licenses for its event, “TOC Cassetted, Not a Political Party”, which has been scheduled for the 29th of January 2011.
The licenses required are the Public Entertainment License, the house to house and street collections license, and a notification to conduct a lucky draw under the house gaming rules.
On the 25th of January 2011, TOC announced on its website that the party would be a ‘fund-raising’ event featuring a live performance, games and a lucky draw.
The planned live performance is a set by a three-piece acoustic band, The UnCassetted. All three lucky draw prizes are worth less than $30 each.
The police assured TOC that it would let TOC know if the applications are successful before the event.
TOC has written to the police to ask for further clarifications.
