On 1 and 2 October 2010, our columnist, Leong Sze Hian, represented The Online Citizen at the Asia Chinese Media Conference held in Kuala Lumpur. Sze Hian gave two presentations on Press Freedom and the Development of Alternative New Media in Singapore, and also participated in a panel discussion on co-operation between new alternative media in Asia.

There were about 100 delegates and twenty-plus speakers, from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.
The top social media blogs represented their respective countries in Asia at the conference.
