Two events at Hong Lim Park to mark National Day

There will be two events at Speakers’ Corner to mark Singapore’s 44th National Day.

The first will take place this Sunday, 9th August, by a group of Singaporean activists. The event is to “remind ourselves of our duty to uphold the true meaning of the Pledge,” the group says on its Facebook page.

The event will take place as follows:

Date: 9 August 2009

Time: 5pm to 7pm

Venue: Speakers’ Corner, Hong Lim Park (Clark Quay MRT station, Exit “A”)

Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam, secretary-general of the Reform Party, will deliver the party’s National Day Message on the 10th of August, Monday. The event will take place from 4pm, also at Speakers’ Corner.
