NTUC FairPrice Foundation Donates S$300,000 to Community Chest at the Official Opening of ComChest Green

Care Corner Family Service Centre (Queenstown) to be direct beneficiary of the donation

NTUC FairPrice Foundation today donated S$300,000 to the Community Chest at the official opening ceremony of ComChest Green at Labrador Nature Reserve. Care Corner Family Service Centre (Queenstown) will be the direct beneficiary of this donation from FairPrice Foundation. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong received the cheque on behalf of the Community Chest from NTUC FairPrice Group CEO and Director of FairPrice Foundation, Mr Tan Kian Chew.

Mr Tan said, “NTUC FairPrice Foundation aims to provide a better life for the community. We believe every segment of the community must be cared for. Our latest donation to Community Chest will go towards enriching the lives of the elderly and support programmes that promote active ageing.”

Queenstown Care Corner Family Service Centre reaches out to people in Singapore by providing Care and showing Love. Its list of social services includes counselling, information and referral, family workshops, and programmes for various support groups. The centre also has a dedicated Elderly programme aimed at promoting active ageing by reaching out to high-risk and vulnerable elderly and integrating them through socio-recreational activities at the centre.

Earlier this month, FairPrice Foundation received the Corporate Platinum Award at the Community Chest Awards. The Corporate Platinum Award represents the highest tier given to organisations that have made significant outright donations to Community Chest. In March this year, FairPrice Foundation also contributed S$300,000 to the Community Chest, in aid of Bright Hill Evergreen Home, Care Corner Family Service Centre (Queenstown), Hospice Day Care Centre and Lions Befrienders.
