This is a public education campaign aimed at encouraging employers in Singapore to voluntarily give their domestic worker a day off. Through campaign activities such as talks, events, news articles and this website, we hope that enough people become convinced on the importance of giving their domestic worker personal time off.

星展银行红包封搞创意惹争议 “花开富贵”改为“花开富归”

新年将至,相信大家都会收到来自各家银行或商店的红包封套,星展银行为了能够在红包袋上发挥创意,将新年祝福语“花开富贵”改成“花开富归”,却引起公众的争议。 日前有读者联系《新明日报》指星展银行红包封上的祝福语令他咋舌,据悉星展银行的红包封套上以中英文写上祝福语,但将中文中的“花开富贵”改为“花开富归”,取之谐音。 对此,有人认为使用“归”一字有不吉利之意,事情公开后,也引发网友的讨论。 而星展银行为何会以此选择“花开富归”,银行解释,由于该红包封套是以环保纸张制作而成,加上有“当大自然盛开时,财富也能回归”之意,呼吁公众尽责,迈向可持续性的未来。 但显然,有些人对此解释并不买账,尽管得知这是创意所为,但因为“归”字多数用以讣告或葬礼上,有“福寿全归”之意,部分网友认为则相当不吉利。 该名爆料读者表示, “所幸,我及时发现,不然把红包分给亲友的话,可就不好了。” 然而,也不全是所有人都不能接受,《新明日报》受访一些公众时,还是有人表示能够接受“创意”,除了有上述之意,但其实也可以将“归”视为回来的意思,并不全然是贬义之词。 星展银行(DBS Bank)受询时表示;“在这佳节期间,我们希望透过传统问候语的谐音,创意地传达给顾客有关持续发展的信息。我们希望顾客能够了解我们传达这些信息背后的精神,在祝贺新年的同时,提醒公众环保的意识,让后代能够享用更美好的未来。”
