Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) has announced that its East-West Line (EWL) is experiencing delay on Thursday (30 March) evening.
On its Twitter page, it said that commuters should expect 20 minutes additional travelling time due to train fault from Pasir Ris to Paya Lebar towards Joo Koon, adding that train service is still available.

It then added that free regular bus services are available.

It then tweeted another post, asking commuters to expect 40 minutes additional travelling time.

However, some netizens pointed that the delay had begun even before the announcement was made.
Mi3Jason wrote that at 5.10pm Joo Koon station had already packed up with commuters due to the delay.
Tan Shi Guan also noted that the train at Eunos station towards east is also experiencing a delay.
At 6.48pm, Facebook user, G Ye, noted on TOC’s Facebook page that there is no more train service at bedok station for both direction.

There is no shuttle bus arranged for the disruption.
