This morning as commuters on the North-South Line were making their way back to work and school after the Jubilee Weekend, train disruption took place along the North South Line between Choa Chu Kang MRT and Jurong East MRT station.

These delays were said to have occurred at about 7.30am.

There was no mention of the train disruption via the official social media platforms of SMRT despite being a requirement set out by the Land Transport Authority.

Trains were travelling at a slow pace and commuters at Chua Chu Kang platform were one of the worst affected.

It appears that SMRT was mum not only on social media but on the ground too.

For many Secondary School students, today marked the first day of Prelims or Common Tests and the delays meant that some might not make it in time for their papers.

3 hours later at around 10.40am, the North-East Line which is run by SBS Transit also experienced service disruption due to train fault.

However, unlike SMRT, SBS Transit was quick to make an announcement and apologized for the delay too.
