Are you proud to be Singaporean, or are you just proud of Singapore?

Stephanie Koh, Singaporean and K-Pop Star Hunt finalist, jumped into the local media limelight recently for mouthing off about not seeing herself as representing Singapore in the competition. The Straits Times reported her fairly outspoken rant, which was directed at a lack of spontaneity among Singaporeans. (ST report)
She later clarified in a YouTube posting about why she is not proud to be Singaporean, giving a point-by-point explanation to her rant.
Stephanie’s YouTube post seems to be directing her unhappiness towards aspects of the Singapore way of life, such as the arts and education system, rather than Singaporeans, or even Singapore, per se. The pride that Singaporeans have towards their own country is not a new topic.
